Thanks For Visting, However my Blog has now moved to
http://aucklandinfrastructure.blogspot.com
Thanks
First of all, Welcome to my Blog!
I’m a Avid follower of AKT or www.aucklandtrains.co.nz, and personally think Jon C has done a great job in portraying the development of transport in Auckland. This site is great for obtaining news about transport related project being or being thought about in the Auckland Region, they provide great debate on how things can be improved or what they think is wrong with transport policies and decisions. This is my attempt to get my opinion out there and provide a different view point. I want to encourage debating about these different issues so we can effectively widen the knowledge of the issues surrounding transport in the Auckland Region. I have found allot of these types of blogs to be very bias in the way they portray Public Transport to Roading Transport, my goal is to provide a more balanced view to the projects currently underway and projects in vital need to the cities and countries development.
Another Blog which I have become a occasional visitor to is Auckland Transport Blog, or http://transportblog.co.nz, this is another great blog I recommend visiting from time to time, however these articles are usually more in-depth and have more emphasis on detailed analysis of urban transport design. It is mainly run by Jarbury however also has a few other bloggers who write articles for the site.
Anyway I’m Joshua, and have a background in Civil Engineering, my enthusiasm for having a great transport system in Auckland has come from several different experiences and of course my patriotism and will for Auckland to be the best! I have done extensive travel as most Kiwi’s tend to do, in my short years this has lead me to use many different types of transport systems mainly in Australia, USA, South America, Japan, and Thailand. I’m looking forward to traveling Europe in the near future and of course just traveling the world. So far on my travels I have experienced some great transport systems, and with the development of Auckland’s transport we have the opportunity to become truly international. I also learnt allot during my studies in Urban Transport Planning and Civil Design, this study has given me great incite to what is achievable and how to do things, however I’m always ready to learn more, university studies have only given me an incite of the knowledge to be gained, the rest will come from experience, which I have gained some working on Major Transport projects in New Zealand, I know how things work in these big organisations though working on the contractors side of things, hence you will notice my get things done attitude.
Throughout this blog I will be posting photo’s and writing articles as often as practicable, however I am working full time in an industry where a 60 – 80hr work week is not uncommon, so please forgive me if I’m not as frequent as I should be. Also as I have mentioned my industry is in Engineering, I’m not a writer nor do I aspire to be, so my articles may not always contain proper English or spelling in that case, however I will try my best, the important issue on this blog is the issues at hand and the ideas given, though debate and through the articles themselves. So please comment and don’t be afraid to criticise my views.
Thanks for Visiting and I hope you will make it a Regular Habit,
Joshua
